It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Lee Thad Sanders, who departed this world on August 3, 2026. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Lee was born on February 9, 1938, in Nash County, North Carolina, to the late Thaddus and Eunice Sanders. Lee was a cherished member of his family and a person whose life touched those fortunate enough to know him he will be remembered for the love’ he shared and the memories he created and the special place he held in the hearts of his family and friends.
Lee was a man whose life was marked by devotion and love. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Ethel Sanders. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years, raising a son, Eric, and creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. Lee's aka (Boot)legacy continues through his cherished wife, son and three grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Professionally, Lee dedicated many years to his craft as a mechanic at Curtis Chevrolet. His hardworking nature and dedication were evident in all he did. Later, he transitioned to working with bricks, a laborious yet fulfilling career, from which he eventually retired. Through his work, Lee demonstrated the value of diligence and integrity.
Lee was known far and wide for his quick wit and warm smile. He will be remembered for the love he shared the memories he created, and the special place he held in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on through the family and loved ones. He leaves behind.
The Family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support and encouragement during this difficult time.
