Lee was born on October 9, 1974, in the warm embrace of Lee County, North Carolina. He left this world on October 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of humor, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. Lee was the cherished son of Linda Strauch and the late Fred Durst, and he shared a special bond with his stepmother, Pam Durst. He was a devoted brother to Jeffrey Bunnell and Phillip Durst, whose lives he enriched with his unique sense of humor and infectious laughter. On May 15th, 2022, Lee married his childhood friend and love, Regina Kottcamp. Their reunion was a testament to the enduring power of love and friendship. Lee was a loving stepfather to Lena Kottcamp and Andrew Robinson, who brought immense joy into his life. A graduate of Lee Senior High in 1992, Lee's journey through life was marked by hard work and dedication. He held various roles in the fast-food industry, showcasing his resilience and commitment. His final position at Ron's Barn in 2026 was a testament to his steadfast work ethic. Lee was a fervent basketball enthusiast, with a particular fondness for the Boston Celtics. In his leisure time, he found joy in playing on his Xbox and sharing laughter and stories over a few drinks with his family and friends. Those who knew Lee will remember him for his quiet demeanor, always ready to share a joke or a smile. He was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, extending kindness and care to everyone he encountered. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was ever willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. A service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on November 1, 2026, at 12:30, at Fayetteville Rose Garden, 2201 Hull Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303. This gesture honors Lee's spirit and his willingness to help others, even in the face of his own battles. Lee was taken from us too soon, without the chance to fight, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire kindness and laughter in all of us.
