It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Lee Burroughs on May 16, 2026, at the age of 73. Lee was born on February 23, 1953, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, and he spent his final moments surrounded by the love and comfort of his home.
Lee was the cherished son of the late Howard and Adaline Burroughs, who instilled in him the values of kindness, dedication, and community—principles that became the foundation of his life. He is now reunited with his beloved parents and siblings, Frank, Sonny, and Joanne, who preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of love and unity.
Lee’s life was enriched by the love and partnership he shared with Tina Burroughs. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and laughter, raising nine wonderful children: Raymond, Quentin, Marty, Lee Drone, Tenesha, Danielle, Nicole, Angela, and his brothers, Thomas, Tony, Steven, and Andrew. The joy of Lee’s life extended to his 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
A graduate of Northeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan, class of 1971, Lee was a man committed to lifelong learning and growth. His educational journey was marked by a fervent passion for knowledge, which he shared generously with his friends and family.
For over 40 years, Lee was an active and devoted member of Cleansing Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith was a guiding light in his life. His unwavering dedication to his church community was matched only by his love for his hometown and his tireless efforts to make a difference in the lives of those around him.
Lee was an avid lover of baseball, a passion he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren. Whether coaching little league or attending games, he relished every opportunity to bond with his family over America’s favorite pastime. Volunteering and engaging in community activities were among his greatest joys, reflecting his belief in the power of service to transform lives.
Those who knew Lee remember him as a kind, thoughtful, and hard-working man, whose generosity and dedication to his family and community knew no bounds. His presence was a beacon of warmth, and his legacy will be carried forward by the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit and unwavering love.
As we gather to celebrate Lee’s remarkable life, we invite all who knew him to share in the memories and love that defined his journey. His love, wisdom, and compassion will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Lee Burroughs will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in peace, in the arms of those who have gone before him, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
