February 23, 1953 — May 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Lee Burroughs, who departed this world peacefully at his home on May 16, 2026, at the age of 73. A devoted family man and community pillar, Lee was born on February 23, 1953, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, to Howard and Adaline Burroughs, who precede him in death alongside his two brothers, Willie and Hank Burroughs. Lee's journey was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his faith, and his community. He graduated from Northeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan, in 1971, setting the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. A beloved husband, Lee enjoyed a beautiful and fulfilling union with Tina Burroughs, a partnership that bore nine extraordinary children: Raymond, Quentin, Marty, Lee Jr., Tenesha, Danielle, Nicole, Angela, and his brothers, Thomas, Tony, Steven, and Andrew. Together, they built a legacy of love that extends to 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom continue to be inspired by his example. For over 40 years, Lee was an active and devoted member of Cleansing Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith was a guiding force and his presence a beacon of kindness and compassion. His commitment to his community extended beyond the church walls, as he engaged in numerous volunteer activities, always aiming to uplift those around him. An avid lover of baseball, Lee found joy in the simplicity of the game and cherished every moment spent on the field with his family. His love for the sport was only matched by the joy he found in spending quality time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Lee's life was a testament to his kind and thoughtful nature. He possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, a quality that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His work ethic was legendary, and his dedication to his community and family was unwavering. As we bid farewell to Lee Burroughs, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and service. His legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched, a reminder of the power of kindness and the impact of a life lived in service to others. A memorial service to honor Lee's life will be held at Cleansing Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a truly extraordinary man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local charity in Lee's honor, continuing his legacy of giving and community service.
