In Loving Memory

Lawrencia Mercedez' Jenkins Scott
July 1, 2000 — June 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrencia Mercedez' Jenkins Scott, affectionately known to many as Renny, who departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 2, 2026. Born on July 1, 2000, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lawrencia was a beacon of love and joy, whose radiant spirit touched everyone she encountered during her short yet impactful time on earth.
Lawrencia was the cherished daughter of Mrs. Carla Jenkins and the late Mr. Lawrence Davis. Her light now joins that of her predeceased father and her beloved maternal and paternal grandparents: Mrs. Mercy Lee Jenkins, Mr. Roy Lee Jenkins, Mrs. Catalina Ginyard, and Mr. Johnny Johnson. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing she is reunited with them.
Left to honor and cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Mr. Raymond Lane Scott Sr., who stood by her side through all of life's challenges and triumphs. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful children, Rayona, Royale, and Raymond Jr., who will carry forward their mother's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. Lawrencia is also survived by her dear mother, Mrs. Carla Jenkins; her sister, Ms. Lawrenda Josette Davis; and her three brothers, Cecil Lavon Burton, Carl Thomas Lee Burton, and Lawrence Davis Jr., all of whom were constant sources of support and joy in her life.
Lawrencia was a perpetual student of life, passionately pursuing her education to become a Certified Medical Assistant and Administrative Medical Assistant. Her commitment to learning was only rivaled by her dedication to her faith. As a devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia, under the guidance of Pastor Ed Rose, Lawrencia's relationship with God was the cornerstone of her life. She joyfully participated in the Youth Dance Ministry, where her love for dance and worship intertwined seamlessly, inspiring those around her.
Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, Renny was known for her vibrant personality and generous heart. An avid dancer, she brought life to any room with her graceful moves and infectious laughter. She delighted in singing, playing games, and had an uncanny knack for fixing everyone's electronic devices, often leaving people in awe of her skills. To know Lawrencia was to love her; her strength, compassion, and unwavering support for those in need were her defining qualities.
A celebration of Lawrencia's remarkable life will take place on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hall Davis and Sons Funeral Home, located at 9348 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70807. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Lawrencia are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the indelible mark she left on our hearts.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Lawrencia Mercedez' Jenkins Scott's spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives of those she loved. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the love she shared and the memories we hold dear. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
