June 8, 1930 — September 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Lawrence V Pilgrim, who left us on September 14, 2026, at the venerable age of 96. Lawrence was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was a testament to hard work, love, and selfless service. Born on June 8, 1930, in the picturesque town of Preston, Idaho, Lawrence was the cherished son of John Henry Pilgrim and Violet Hedfield Pilgrim. He was a man whose life was marked by dedication and resilience, qualities instilled in him by his loving parents. Lawrence was blessed to find the love of his life, Bjorg Nordhagen, during his travels in Oslo, Norway. The two shared a remarkable bond, nurtured over 61 beautiful years of marriage, before Bjorg's passing in 2015. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising their daughter Lezann Keshmiri, who sadly predeceased him, and their daughter Kristina Elmer, who, along with her husband David, continues to honor his legacy. A proud and devoted grandfather, Lawrence's life was further enriched by his four grandchildren: Cody Elmer (Hailey Foster), Trevor Elmer (Cassidy), Saeed Keshmiri, and Sarah Keshmiri. His eyes would light up with pride whenever he spoke of them, and he found immense joy in their achievements and aspirations. Lawrence dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving his country as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force and National Guard. His commitment to excellence and leadership inspired all who served alongside him. Following his military career, he embarked on a successful second career with the Federal Aviation Administration, and also proved to be an astute businessman, owning several enterprises, including a restaurant and a real estate sign company. A man of deep faith, Lawrence was an active member of the LDS Church throughout his life. His spirituality and compassion were reflected in his daily actions, as he woke each morning with the intention of helping those in need. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Lawrence's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hiking and skiing. He often transformed a simple walk with his dog into an adventurous 5-7 mile hike, reveling in the beauty of nature and the companionship of his loyal pet. In honoring Lawrence's memory, we remember a man who exemplified integrity, warmth, and unwavering dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
