Lawrence Paul Mulholland
June 24, 1963 — May 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Paul Mulholland, affectionately known as "Lawnie," who left us on May 7, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on June 24, 1963, in the serene town of Duncan, British Columbia, Lawnie was a beacon of laughter, love, and generosity. His journey through life was one marked by profound connections, adventurous travels, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends.
Lawrence was the cherished son of Paul and Elnora Mulholland, who instilled in him the values of kindness and community that he carried throughout his life. He shared these values with his beloved wife of 32 years, Melanie, whom he married on a beautiful July day in 1994. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating a beautiful family with their children—sons Trevor and Wendel, and daughter Ashley.
A proud graduate of Cowichan Secondary School's Class of 1981, Lawnie pursued a career as a long haul truck driver, dedicating 42 years to traveling across North America. His work took him to places far and wide, yet his heart always remained anchored to his family and the community he loved in British Columbia.
Weekends were often spent indulging in his passion for race cars. As an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a race car driver himself, Lawnie could often be found at the Western Speedway, either racing or cheering on his favorite drivers. His love for the sport was infectious, and he shared many a thrilling race day with his family and countless friends.
Known for his quick wit and humor, Lawnie possessed an uncanny ability to light up any room. His laughter was the soundtrack to many gatherings, and his spirit was the life of every party. Beyond the humor lay a profound generosity and kindness, traits that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. His family, friends, and the community will dearly miss the warmth and joy he brought into their lives.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife Melanie, his children Trevor, Wendel, and Ashley, and his seven adored grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brothers Paul, Corey, and Dale, and his sister Tammy, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A service to celebrate Lawnie's remarkable life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Aggie Hall, located at 10011 First Ave, Ladysmith, BC. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of a man who touched so many lives with his laughter and love.
The Mulholland family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cowichan Hospital for their kindness and hospitality during this difficult time.
In remembering Lawrence Paul Mulholland, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with adventure, love, and laughter. Though he may have left this world, his spirit, humor, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide all who knew him.
