It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Bratcher, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on July 15, 1938, in Saint Louis, Larry graced this world with his presence until September 11, 2026. The son of Arthur Lawrence Bratcher and Olga Bratcher (née Wilson), Larry was a cherished member of his family, community, and the lives of all who knew him. A graduate of Central High School in 1957, Larry dedicated much of his life to service and protection. He proudly served as a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for 24 years, a testament to his commitment and bravery. Following his retirement from the police force, he continued his dedication to safety and security with a 16-year tenure at Boeing Aircraft. Larry's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid collector with a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, embracing activities like travel,camping, fishing,fly tying, and bicycling. His interests were as diverse as they were enriching—photography, leather work, reading, and enjoying television were among his favored pastimes. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Larry will remember him for his quick smile and sparkling blue eyes, which reflected the warmth and joy he brought to every interaction. His kindness and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Larry leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Marge Bratcher (née Saputo), who stood by his side through life's many adventures. His legacy continues through his loving children: Larry Bratcher( Gayln) Patricia Zerega (Richard), and Paul Bratcher (Sue). Larry was also the proud grandfather to six grandchildren and the delighted great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and strength of the family he built. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Larry's memory to the Salvation Army, continuing his legacy of kindness and generosity. Larry Bratcher, Jr. will be profoundly missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
