With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Allan Boyd, a cherished husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and esteemed friend, who peacefully departed this life on April 1, 2026, at the age of 78. Lawrence's journey ended at home in the comforting presence of his beloved family, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 6, 1947, in Butte, Montana, Lawrence was the cherished son of the late Dean W. Boyd and Lorraine D. Johnson. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Nelson and Hal Nelson, and his sisters, Beverly Dunn and Gail Boyd, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life. Lawrence's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. After completing his service in the US Navy from April 1967 to March 1974, Lawrence returned home with a steadfast commitment to his family and community. His naval service was marked by courage and integrity, qualities that continued to define him in every endeavor he undertook. In 1979, Lawrence married the love of his life, Patty Tannehill, on November 10. Together, they shared over 46 years of unwavering love and companionship, raising six wonderful children in a home filled with laughter, warmth, and boundless affection. Patty remains surrounded by the love of their children: Dawn Renee', Dena and her husband Paul, Robby and his wife Cristie, Tommy, and Mary and her wife Vanessa. Lawrence's legacy of love and kindness continues to shine through his ten treasured grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Family was the cornerstone of Lawrence's world. He cherished every moment spent with them, finding great joy in family gatherings, storytelling, and the simple pleasures of life. His brother, Brian Boyd, along with his wife Wendy, survive him, sharing in the deep sense of loss felt by all who knew Lawrence. Lawrence's spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering strength, whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. His laughter, generosity, and gentle guidance will forever echo in the hearts of those he touched. As we bid farewell to Lawrence, we celebrate a life well-lived and a love that will never fade. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May Lawrence Allan Boyd rest in peace, surrounded by the love and gratitude of those he leaves behind. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be missed beyond measure.
