May 20, 1950 — August 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Lawerence Tripplett, who departed this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on August 18, 2026. Born on May 20, 1950, in Los Angeles, CA, Lawerence was the beloved son of Clayton and Lucille Tripplett, who have predeceased him. Lawerence was a man who dedicated his life to education and service. A proud graduate of Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Education from Cal Poly Long Beach. For 25 years, he devoted himself to shaping young minds as a respected educator within the Los Angeles Unified School District. His commitment to public service continued with his tenure at Bay Area Rapid Transit, from which he retired in 2010. Beyond his professional achievements, Lawerence was an integral part of his community, sharing his faith and fellowship as an active member of Pilgram Baptist Church in San Mateo, CA. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, and his enthusiasm for sports was unmatched as a 30-year season ticket holder of the Golden State Warriors. Lawerence will be remembered for his quick wit and infamous "dad jokes" that brought laughter to family gatherings and social interactions. His warm and generous heart was a beacon of kindness to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Kimberly Tripplett, Kurtis L. Tripplett, and Loren Tripplett-Baker, as well as seven adoring grandchildren who will carry forth his memories and teachings. A celebration of Lawerence's life will take place on September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Inglewood Park Cemetery, located at 720 E. Florence Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301. The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that Lawerence would have deeply appreciated. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their kindness and generosity during this delicate time. Lawerence’s impact on our lives is immeasurable, and he will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
