LaVanya, born on December 17, 1982, in Sanford, Florida, departed this world on July 5, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and selfless devotion. She was the cherished daughter of Vonda Buckner and the late David Coffee, and she was a beacon of warmth and strength to all who knew her.
LaVanya's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family. A graduate of Winter Springs High School in the class of 2001, she furthered her education at Job Corps, earning her CNA certification in 2003. Her passion for helping others was evident as she embarked on a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care through various agencies in Florida and Georgia. Her journey through life also led her to the world of cosmetology, graduating from Fortis College in 2010. LaVanya's artistic flair and caring nature found a perfect match during her cherished years as a hairdresser at Bosley's Hair Club in Winter Park, Florida.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, LaVanya’s life was enriched by her deep love for music and her active involvement in her community. A familiar face at Palmetto Avenue Baptist Church, she shared her faith and fellowship with family and friends, and as an active member of the Hamilton Elementary PTA, she demonstrated her unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds.
Those who knew LaVanya could attest to her heart of gold, often hidden beneath a tough exterior. She was a fierce protector of those she loved, always ready to sacrifice her own comfort to ensure that her family never went without. Her son, Leighlen J. Blount, was the light of her life, and she leaves behind a family that will forever cherish her memory, including her siblings: Darrell Coffee, Michael Coffee, Anthony Buckner (Dwanna), Lisa Coffee-Ward (Bobby), Shannan Negron (William), Brittany Casimir (Geraldo), and Shamilya Buckner. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep...I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.
