Laurie Bonfiglio was born Laurie Roby on March 15, 1962 in Denver CO. Her passing came after a valiant two-year battle with lung cancer, during which her courage and resilience were evident to all who knew her, she hung her riding boots up and took her final breath on September 20, 2026. She passed away while living in Junction City, OR. Her final moments were spent surrounded by the love of her husband and three of her children.
Laurie was the beloved daughter of Leroy Vernon Roby Sr and Isabelle Pearl Roby, and she was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Brenda Tyerman, Beverly Christian, Samuel Roby, Terry Sharp, Judy Kabler, Rick Roby, Leroy Roby Jr, and Gail Roby. Her family roots were deeply entwined with her upbringing, having been raised in a Baptist household that instilled in her a strong sense of faith and community.
Laurie's heart was her family, and she leaves behind her devoted husband of 34 years, Joseph Bonfiglio. They were married on June 28, 1992, and over the course of 40 years, they built a life rich with love and adventure. Laurie was a devoted mother to four children, Crystal, Misty, John, and Robert, and she delighted in the joy of their 13 grandchildren, always grateful for the laughter and happiness they brought into their lives.
Professionally, Laurie dedicated much of her life to serving others as a waitress, a role where her vibrant energy and cheerful spirit shone brightly. She worked in various establishments, including casinos, always striving to provide the best possible service with a smile. Her ability to connect with people made her a friend to many and a cherished colleague.
Laurie had an adventurous spirit, often finding joy in the open road with her partner in crime, Joe, on the back of their beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles. Together, they traveled thousands of miles, embracing every adventure with enthusiasm and a shared passion for the freedom of the ride.
A woman of warmth and kindness, Laurie was known for her genuine friendship and readiness to help anyone in need. Her infectious laughter and zest for life were defining qualities, and she was never afraid to stand by her principles, even if it meant parting ways with those who did not treat her right.
A service to celebrate Laurie's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Rd, Eagle Point, OR. .
Laurie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and indomitable spirit. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
