Lauralee Weaver

Lauralee Weaver, born on June 15, 1938, in the quaint town of Drain, Oregon, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, after courageously battling cancer. She was surrounded by the vast love of her family and the warm memories of a life richly lived. Lauralee was the beloved daughter of Frank and Linnie (Hand) Jacobs. She was raised in a close-knit family, cherishing the bonds with her siblings, Cheryl (Jacobs) Atkinson and Frank Jacobs Jr., who survive her, as well as her late brother, Robert Jacobs. Lauralee's parents and brother Robert, along with her cherished husband Jack, her daughter Marci (Weaver) Stallsworth, and grandchildren Stevi Fichtner and Kacey McDonald, have predeceased her. A proud graduate of North Douglas High School in 1956, Lauralee embarked on a life filled with steadfast dedication and vibrant energy. She joined Harry & David in 1963, where her career began with packing pears, eventually advancing to an office role in order processing. Her work ethic and commitment were hallmarks of her professional life, which later saw her and Jack become the co-owners and operators of the Nyssa Tavern from 1979 until their second retirement in 1997. Lauralee and Jack's marriage was a testament to love and partnership, spanning 45 years and blessed with four wonderful children: Micki Weaver, Traci (Weaver) Wickenheiser, Scot Weaver, and the late Marci. Together, they not only built a family but also a business, sharing their lives in a tapestry woven with laughter, challenges, and triumphs. Lauralee's heart overflowed with joy as her family grew. She leaves behind a legacy in her 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever treasure her memory. A sports enthusiast, Lauralee had a passion for volleyball, softball, and swimming, and she continued to enjoy tennis, football, and baseball on television throughout her later years. Her love for sports mirrored her zest for life — spirited and full of movement. Known for her ever-present smile and the charming, quirky way she pronounced certain words, Lauralee brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. Her laughter and unique expressions, particularly her memorable pronunciation of "sheeeeit," became beloved trademarks among family and friends. Her favorite time of day throughout the years were her walks along the Smith River Road with her mother, Linnie and anyone of her favorite dogs through the years. Lauralee's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Avera Hospice team, including Kaylyn, Kesley, Jamie, and Pastor Tina, whose exceptional care and compassion provided comfort and peace during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lauralee's memory to a charity of one's choice, continuing her legacy of kindness and generosity. As we celebrate Lauralee Weaver’s life, we remember her enduring spirit, unwavering love, and the countless ways she touched those around her. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
