May 11, 1926 — June 16, 2026

In Loving Memory of Lady Laura Parsons McNair Lady Laura Parsons McNair gracefully departed this world on June 16, 2026, at the age of 100, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Born on May 11, 1926, in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Laura was the cherished daughter of William Garvie Parsons and Vertie Elma Shepherd, who instilled in her a deep sense of family and tradition. Laura's life was a tapestry woven with rich threads of history and heritage, tracing her lineage back to Magna Carta Baron, Henry De Bohun, and direct descendants of King Edward I and Charlemagne. Her noble ancestry was matched by a noble spirit, which she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. On September 26, 1942, in York, South Carolina, Laura united in marriage with the love of her life, Louis Benjamin McNair. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and unwavering devotion until Louis's passing. Their union brought forth a family that would become Laura's pride and joy. Laura is survived by her loving daughters, Lady Lynn Elizabeth McNair Leisy (William Davis) and Lady Linda Jean McNair Misenheimer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, William Davis Leisy Jr (Catherine Ferreira), Heather Bassett Leisy (Rich Messenger), Richard Allen Misenheimer (Dena), and Chris Anthony Misenheimer (Yoko). The light of her life also extends to her great-grandchildren, Archer, Coral, Chase, McKenzie, Cy, and Hal, who brought her endless joy and laughter. In the face of profound loss, Laura remained steadfast, having been predeceased by her beloved husband Louis, her daughter Laura Ann McNair Wilson (Henry Scales Wilson), and her son Lord David Louis McNair. Her enduring strength was a testament to her character, and she found solace in the cherished memories of those who had gone before her. Laura's passions were as diverse as her lineage. She found solace in the beauty of nature through her love of gardening and fishing, and her home was a testament to her appreciation for history, adorned with antiques that told stories of the past. Her baking, a skill passed from generation to generation, was a comfort to all who tasted her creations. A proud member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, Laura's dedication to preserving history was reflected in her life's work and community involvement. Laura's family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by her devoted caregiver, Tonya Bradley, whom she affectionately called "Momma." Tonya's presence brought comfort and companionship during Laura's later years, for which the family will always remain thankful. A graveside service to honor Laura's remarkable life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 239 Champion Mt Pleasant Rd, Wilkesboro, NC 28697. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a woman whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and an enduring spirit. Laura Parsons McNair's departure leaves a profound void, yet her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a guiding light, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a beloved friend. Her spirit will forever inspire those who carry her memory forward.
