Laura Louise Osborn Heintschel
August 20, 1980 — June 26, 2026
Laura Louise Osborn Heintschel, a beacon of love, creativity, and warmth, passed away peacefully at her home on June 26, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on August 20, 1980, in Richfield, NY, Laura graced the world with her vibrant spirit, touching the lives of many with her generosity and kindness.
Laura was the cherished daughter of Shirley Fassett Snyder (Simonds) and the late Donald Osborn. She is now reunited with her father, her brother Shane Osborn, her paternal grandmother, and her maternal grandparents, Damon and Elizabeth Simonds. Her legacy and love continue through her surviving family: her siblings David Osborn, Michelle Fassett, Donnie Osborn, Samantha Osborn, Wayne Osborn, and Steven Osborn; her beloved children Lexi, Jason, and Nicholas Heintschel; and the many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who held her dear.
Laura was married to her soulmate, Jason Heintschel, on November 25, 1998. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that spanned nearly three decades. Their journey took them from New York to North Carolina in 1999, and eventually to South Carolina in 2008, where they made a home filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of Laura's exquisite cooking.
Graduating from Cherry Valley-Springfield School and obtaining her GED, Laura dedicated her life to serving others, primarily as a food server. Her passion for nurturing others extended into her entrepreneurial pursuits, where she obtained her certification to sell insurance and proudly ran a catering business. Laura's kitchen was always open, a testament to her belief that food was a universal language of love.
Laura's creativity was boundless. Her love for arts and crafts found a permanent place in the lives of those around her, especially through the artistic talents of her son Nicholas. She was an amazing mother, friend, and chef whose hugs were legendary, and whose words of love were never in short supply. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her love for camping, beach days, and grilling — simple pleasures that brought her immense joy.
A private viewing for the immediate family will be held on July 3, 2026, in Hilton Head, SC. To celebrate Laura's remarkable life, a Celebration of Life will take place at Scenic View Campground Restaurant on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1 PM to 5 PM, at 386 Truax Road, West Winfield, NY. A light lunch will be served, with guests invited to bring a dessert. Refreshments will be available for children, and a cash bar will be open to adults.
In the loving memory of a woman who gave so much of herself to others, we come together to honor Laura's life — a life lived with love, laughter, and boundless generosity. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
