With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Laura "Laurie" Ann Grabill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Laurie passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 65, surrounded by her loving family at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Her courageous spirit and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Born on March 14, 1961, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C., Laurie was the cherished daughter of Daniel and Harriet Beggarly. She spent her childhood in Hyattsville, Maryland, and was a proud graduate of Bladensburg High School. Her early years were filled with the joy of family, friendships, and the blossoming of her many interests. Laurie's life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. She dedicated her life to her family, always placing their happiness above all else. She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel Grabill, Sr., her three beloved children, Jennifer, Kyle, and Erica, and her stepchildren, Danny, Jr., Coy, and Tina. Laurie was the proud grandmother to ten adoring grandchildren: Jamaal, Jr., Jayla, Cierra, Jake, Justin, Blair, Gianna, Jordan, Isabella, and Jackson, each of whom she treasured beyond words. Laurie's warmth and generosity extended far beyond her family. She was a beacon of kindness and compassion, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was collecting seashells and shark teeth along the sandy shores, planting vibrant flowers that mirrored her bright spirit, or preparing delicious meals that brought her loved ones together, Laurie's heart was always full. Her love for her family was rivaled only by her deep affection for her pets, with whom she shared countless moments of comfort and companionship. Laurie found joy in the laughter of her grandchildren as they played in the pool and in the timeless humor of "I Love Lucy," a show she held dear. Laurie will be profoundly missed by her brother, Steve Beggarly, and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, courage, and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. A celebration of Laurie's life will be held on May 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Rausch Funeral Home, located at 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD 20657. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the boundless love she shared. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Laurie's memory be made to the Calvert Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 1660, Prince Frederick, MD 20678, to honor her enduring love for animals. Laurie's light will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her, a guiding star that reminds us all of the beauty in cherishing each moment and loving without limits.
