Laura Jeane Flowers November 28, 1957 - July 19, 2026 Laura Jeane Flowers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's. Born on November 28, 1957, in Oklahoma City, OK, Laura was a beacon of love, laughter, and warmth throughout her life. Laura was the cherished daughter of Lester Riley Long and Evelyn Frances Hardy Long, both of whom predeceased her, along with her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dana Mark Flowers, and their three sons, Darren Flowers and wife Kristen, Jordan Flowers and wife Katie, and Zachary Flowers and significant other Roxanne. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Finley, Lochlan, Leah, and Koen Flowers. Laura is also survived by her dear sisters, Lezlie Hudiburg (David), Lynette Blevins (James), and LaDonna Atkins (Jeffrey), as well as sister-in-law Brenda Jay (Max), numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and countless friends who were touched by her kindness. Laura graduated from Sooner High School in Bartlesville, OK, in 1975 and pursued some college courses before joining the workforce. She dedicated many years to Tupperware Home Parties before finding her professional home at Southwest Airlines, where she served as a Reservations Specialist for 15 years until her retirement. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was an active member of several churches, including Southern Hills Baptist Church, South Lindsay Baptist Church, Southwest Baptist Church, Cornerstone Church, South Metro Church, and Shekinah Fellowship. Together with Dana, she served as a youth pastor, nurturing the spiritual growth of young people in Ardmore and Oklahoma City. Laura's zest for life was evident in her love for board games, card games, and jigsaw puzzles. She was an expert Scrabble player. Her true joy was spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader and delighted in word puzzles. Laura's infectious spirit was well-known among her friends in the Central Oklahoma Parrothead Club, where she was affectionately dubbed "the kissing bandit" for her welcoming peck on the lips to both men and women alike. Her passion for fun extended to her adventures with the Bon Jovi Fan Club, traveling across the country with her "Jovi girls" to concerts and events. Laura's sweet spirit and welcoming smile left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She had a rare gift for making people feel loved and valued, listening with genuine care and empathy. Her family and friends were her greatest treasures, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. A celebration of Laura's life will be held in her honor at a future date to be announced. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at The Mansion at Waterford and Iris Memory Care in Edmond, whose dedication and compassion provided Laura with wonderful care. They especially thank those who made financial provisions allowing her to receive the best of care. They also thank those who visited during her illness, brightening her days with their presence. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Laura Jeane Flowers, to honor her life and support those affected by Alzheimer's. Laura will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and joy, and her memory will be cherished forever.
