Laura Elisabeth Wilcock, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2026, at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 27, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Laura was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Terry Bateman and Janet May Dyson. Her father, Robert, and her grandson, Alexander Hudson Velasquez, preceded her in death, and we take comfort in knowing they are now reunited. Laura is survived by her devoted husband of 13 years, Henry Correy Wilcock, with whom she shared a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. Their marriage, which began on January 5, 2013, was a testament to their unwavering support and affection for one another. Together, they created a blended family overflowing with love and joy. Laura's legacy lives on through her children: Samantha Pepper (Aaron Velasquez), Brennan Pistone, Johnathan Pepper, Ciara Pistone, Stephanie Higley (Shawn Higley), Aspen Pistone, Joseph Pepper, Shawna Pepper, Casey Wilcock, and Jacob Wilcock. As a mother, Laura was a guiding light, always offering encouragement and wisdom to her children, nurturing their growth with her kindness and humor. Her heart expanded even further with the arrival of her grandchildren: Desmond, Charlie, Bailey, Sixton, Tobias, Jace, Kinsley, Wren, Owen, Easton, Mikah, and Onyx. Laura adored her 13 grandchildren, and they were the center of her world. She delighted in crocheting special treasures for them and cherished every moment spent crafting, singing, and playing with them. Laura had an infectious smile and a beautiful laugh that could light up any room. Her sense of humor and ability to make others laugh brought joy to countless lives. She was a pillar of strength, offering guidance and support to those around her, helping them navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. Beyond her family, Laura had a passion for music and adventure. She loved singing and listening to music, which filled her home with warmth and happiness. She treasured every opportunity to go fishing with Henry, creating lasting memories of their time spent in nature's embrace. Laura's kindness, strength, and love left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she met. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of cherishing each moment with those we hold dear. In keeping with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Laura's life. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength that will continue to inspire us all.
