October 27, 1975 — May 17, 2026

Laura Elisabeth Wilcock, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on May 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 27, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Laura was a beacon of love and joy to all who knew her, her life an enduring testament to compassion, strength, and resilience. Laura was the cherished daughter of Robert Terry Bateman and Janet May Dyson. She carried her father's memory within her heart, even as she was predeceased by him and her dear grandson, Alexander Hudson Velasquez. Despite these profound losses, Laura was a source of boundless love and support for her family, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. On January 5, 2013, Laura married the love of her life, Henry Correy Wilcock. Their 13 years of marriage were filled with shared adventures, laughter, and an unwavering partnership. Together, they built a family that was the center of Laura's world. Laura's legacy lives on through her children: Samantha Pepper, married to Aaron Velasquez; Brennan Pistone; Johnathan Pepper; Ciara Pistone; Stephanie Higley, married to Shawn Higley; Aspen Pistone; Shawna Pepper; Joseph Pepper; Casey Wilcock; and Jacob Wilcock. Her 13 grandchildren—Desmond, Charlie, Bailey, Alexander, Sixton, Tobias, Jace, Kinsley, Wren, Owen, Easton, Mikah, and Onyx—were the light of her life. She delighted in crocheting blankets and crafting keepsakes for them, each piece a tangible symbol of her love. Laura was known for her kindness and infectious laughter, her smile capable of lighting up the darkest of rooms. She possessed an innate ability to bring joy to those around her, always knowing just how to lift spirits with her humor and warmth. Her strength was a guiding light, encouraging and supporting others through life's challenges. To her children and grandchildren, she was not just a mother or grandmother, but a confidante, a mentor, and a steadfast friend. An adventurer at heart, Laura cherished time spent with family and friends, creating memories on fishing trips with her husband and escapades with her best friend, Kari Weems. Music was a constant companion, and she often filled her home with song, her voice an echo of the joy she spread so effortlessly. Her life, though cut far too short, was filled with love and lived to the fullest. Laura will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unyielding courage, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her family and friends will continue to honor her memory by living with the same joy and compassion she embodied every day. A private ceremony to celebrate Laura's life will be held with her closest family members. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Laura's honor to cancer research organizations, continuing her fight to bring hope and healing to others. Laura Elisabeth Wilcock will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those she touched.
