Laura Calsolaro, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, left this world suddenly on June 8, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on August 22, 1968, in Albany, NY, Laura graced the lives of all who knew her with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to others.
A graduate of Schodack Central High School in 1986, Laura's journey was marked by her service to her country and her community. She proudly served in the United States Army, embodying the principles of duty and service that would resonate throughout her life. Her career in special education at Sand Creek Middle School highlighted her compassionate nature, as she devoted herself to nurturing and educating young minds, always striving to make a difference in the lives of her students.
Laura's nurturing spirit extended beyond the classroom. As an active Girl Scout leader, she inspired countless young girls to grow in confidence and character. Her love for her family was boundless; a devoted mother to Gabrielle Baggetta (Joseph), her world was further brightened by her cherished grandchildren, Amelia and Everett, with whom she spent countless joyful hours.
Laura's life was rich with simple pleasures and creative pursuits. She was an accomplished baker, often filling her home with the comforting aroma of freshly baked treats. A gifted musician, she found solace in playing guitar and singing, sharing her love of music with those around her. Her love for swimming and walking reflected her appreciation for nature's beauty, while cuddling with her beloved dogs brought her profound joy and companionship.
Family ties were of utmost importance to Laura. She is deeply mourned by her mother, Sharon McNamara (Gerald), her brother, Dan McNamara (April), and her aunts Sandra Bishop (Tom) and Judy Cerrone. She is predeceased by her grandmother Betty Cerrone, grandfather Gordon Cerrone, grandmother Beatrice McNamara, aunt Elinor Scheidel, uncle Howard Scheidel, and cousin Clark Baker Jr., who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Laura's legacy is one of love, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to others. Her gentle spirit and caring heart left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Florida Suicide Prevention Center, an organization close to her heart. This gesture reflects Laura's enduring desire to uplift and support those in need.
Laura's family will hold a private ceremony to honor her life, cherishing the memories they shared. They wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support during this difficult time.
Though she has left this world, Laura Calsolaro's spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of those she touched. Her love, kindness, and the joy she brought to others will forever remain in our hearts.
