February 14, 1985 — May 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Laura Aiko Luna, who departed this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 41. She was a cherished soul, born on a day that celebrates love, February 14, 1985, in Long Beach, California. Laura's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a boundless spirit of adventure.
Laura was the beloved daughter of James (Fred) and Patricia Landrum, who instilled in her the values of compassion and kindness that she carried throughout her life. She shared a special bond with her brother, Cleveland (C.C.) Payne III, and her Aunt Deborah Mendaros, who were both a source of strength and laughter in her life.
On April 26, 2004, in the city of Norwalk, CA, Laura married her soulmate, Jorge A. Luna. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared 22 years of happy marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and unyielding support. Laura was the proud and devoted mother to three wonderful sons: Isaiah, Ethan, and Ezekiel, who were her greatest joy and her most profound legacy.
Laura graduated from Bellflower High School in 2003 and embraced the role of an Air Force military spouse with grace and dedication. She supported her husband through multiple tours of duty, embodying resilience and strength, and providing a loving and stable home for their family.
Professionally, Laura was a certified pharmacy technician and served as an assistant dietary supervisor at Alexandria Care Center. Her colleagues remember her not only for her dedication and skill but for her warmth and the light she brought into their lives. A true jack of all trades, Laura was a talented artist, craftsman, plumber, and electrician. Her determination and creativity meant that when she set her mind to something, there was nothing she could not achieve.
Beyond her professional life, Laura's heart was most full when she was in nature, hiking with her family, capturing their adventures through her lens, and sharing the beauty of their world with friends and family on social media. Her photographs were not just images but stories of love and togetherness.
Laura's kindness and vivacious spirit touched everyone she met. She had an innate ability to make friends easily, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime. Her positivity and warmth were a beacon that drew people in and left a lasting impression on their hearts.
While our hearts are heavy with the loss of such a luminous presence, we find solace in the cherished memories and the profound impact Laura had on our lives. Her legacy will continue through the love she fostered, the family she cherished, and the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of Laura's life will be held to honor the extraordinary person she was and the joy she brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Laura's memory, reflecting her spirit of generosity and compassion.
Laura Aiko Luna's journey on this earth was far too brief, yet her spirit remains eternal, woven into the hearts of all who loved her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered with love and admiration. May her soul rest in peace.
