It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved La’Torya Rayshanna Booker, who departed this world on June 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with kidney disease. She was 42 years old. La’Torya faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on May 16, 1984, in Cincinnati, Ohio, La’Torya entered this world as a beacon of joy and love. She was the cherished daughter of Ms. Victoria Ann Morton and Julius Ray Booker the First. Her life was a testament to the power of resilience and the beauty of kindness. La’Torya’s life was filled with music, rhythm, and joy. She had an incredible passion for music and dancing, often losing herself in melodies that fueled her spirit and warmed her heart. Her vibrant energy and infectious laughter could light up any room, and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. La’Torya’s family was her anchor and her greatest pride. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Ms. Victoria Morton, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support. She is also survived by her siblings, Julius R. Booker II, Alberta P. Brown, Elijah K. Pittman, Tra Jon D. Lee, and Myka D. Tarrance, who shared in her journey of life’s ups and downs, always united in love and solidarity. Her legacy continues through her cherished nieces and nephews, McKayla J. Booker, Julius R. Booker III, Jeremiah K. Booker, Jamison Booker, Autumn O. Mains, Aniya A. Mains, and Alannah R. Brown, who adored their Aunt La’Torya and will carry forward the lessons of love, strength, and joy she imparted to them. La’Torya found a soulmate in her life partner, Felicia Dowdy, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they forged a bond that was a testament to true companionship and understanding, enriching each other’s lives with shared dreams and boundless affection. Though La’Torya did not have children of her own, her nurturing spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many young ones in her family and community. Her laughter, wisdom, and warmth will be dearly missed, yet forever cherished. As we gather to celebrate La’Torya’s life, we remember a woman who lived with purpose and passion. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy—traits that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in the memories we shared and the profound impact she had on our lives. A memorial service will be held to honor La’Torya’s remarkable life, where family and friends will gather to remember her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a kidney disease foundation, in the hope of helping others who battle this illness. May La’Torya Rayshanna Booker rest in eternal peace, her soul forever dancing among the stars, her music echoing in the hearts of those she loved and left behind.
