In Loving Memory

Lashounda Kimbrough
February 27, 1980 — June 25, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lashounda Kimbrough, who left this world peacefully in her sleep on June 25, 2026. Lashounda was born on February 27, 1980, in Carrollton, Georgia, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone she met with her boundless love and compassion.
Lashounda was the cherished daughter of Dan Sims and Patricia Kimbrough. She was a devoted wife to Shannon Thompson, with whom she shared over 25 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home and raised four extraordinary children: Quanita, Dayvione, Antron, and Malayshia. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandson, Elias Thompson, who brought immense joy to her life.
From a young age, Lashounda demonstrated a deep love for the outdoors and a particular passion for fishing. Her affinity for nature was matched only by her affection for dogs, which brought her great happiness. As a faithful member of Soul Restoration Ministries for over 28 years, Lashounda embodied the spirit of service, consistently extending a warm welcome to everyone she encountered, whether friend or stranger.
Her life was a testament to selflessness and kindness. Lashounda was known for her unwavering dedication to the well-being of others, always putting their needs before her own. Her generosity knew no bounds—if she had it, then you had it. She had an incredible ability to brighten any room and make those around her feel loved, important, and cared for.
Lashounda is survived by her husband, Shannon; her children, Quanita, Dayvione, Antron, and Malayshia; her siblings, Patonya and Melissa Kimbrough, and Ezekiel Sims; her parents, Dan Sims and Patricia Kimbrough; and her adored grandson, Elias. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Lashounda’s life on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Services will be held at Elliot Parham Mortuary, located at 304 Columbia Dr, Carrollton, GA 30117. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of their choice in Lashounda's memory, honoring her lifelong commitment to giving and helping others.
Lashounda Kimbrough’s life was a beautiful example of love, compassion, and generosity. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the precious memories and lessons she imparted, forever grateful for the time we shared with such a remarkable soul.
