Larry Shane Shipman
December 25, 1970 — April 17, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Larry Shane Shipman, a cherished son, loving father, and loyal friend to many. Shane, as he was affectionately known, left this world on April 17, 2026, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 55. Born on a crisp Christmas Day in 1970 in the quaint town of Hico, Texas, Shane brought with him a spirit that was as warm and bright as the season itself.
Shane was the beloved son of Lawrence and Sandena Shipman, who nurtured his boundless curiosity and infectious laughter. He grew up in a household filled with love and strong values, surrounded by the enduring memories of his grandparents, Eugene and Elvena Hicks, and Lawrence and Jaqueta Shipman, who predeceased him and now welcome him with open arms.
A proud and dedicated serviceman, Shane answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Navy. His commitment to service and camaraderie left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Shane was a man who never knew a stranger. His heart was open to all, and he carried with him a smile that could light up the darkest room. His humor was legendary, and he had an uncanny ability to offer a joke that would bring laughter and ease even the heaviest of hearts. He possessed a unique gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, a testament to his kind and generous spirit.
Shane's legacy is carried forward by his beloved son, Gavin Shipman, who was the apple of his eye and his greatest pride. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Larry and Sandy Shipman, whose love and guidance shaped the incredible man Shane became. His sister, Paige Young, and her husband, Jimmie, along with their children, Kylie Gomez and Kade Young, will forever cherish the memories of family gatherings filled with Shane's laughter and warmth.
As we bid farewell to Shane, we remember a life well-lived, filled with joy, service, and an unwavering love for those around him. His passing leaves a void that will be felt by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift us.
A celebration of Shane's life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to honor his remarkable journey and share stories of the joy and light he brought into all our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Shane's memory to a charity of your choice that reflects his spirit of generosity and kindness.
May Shane rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave to others. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
