In Loving Memory

Larry Rex Christensen
January 18, 1936 — May 25, 2026
It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Larry Rex Christensen on May 25, 2026. Larry left this world at the age of 90, as he had lived it, quietly and surrounded by love, in the comforting presence of his beloved wife, Sharlene Christensen. His journey began in the picturesque town of Manti, Utah, on January 18, 1936, where he was born to Rex Christensen and Gene Braithwaite.
Larry was a man of remarkable talent and an unwavering passion that guided him to follow his dreams. His dedication and skill in watercolor painting earned him international recognition, allowing him to share the beauty of the world through his art. Each brushstroke was a testament to his love for nature and his keen eye for capturing its essence. His works not only adorn walls but also the hearts of those who had the privilege of viewing them.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by the serenity of the great outdoors, fishing by a tranquil lake or camping under a canopy of stars. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the wonders of nature, often with a fishing rod in one hand and stories about his latest wine-making exploits in the other. Larry's wines were as full-bodied and vibrant as the laughter he shared with family and friends.
Larry's greatest pride, however, was his role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared a beautiful life with his cherished wife, Sharlene, who remains to celebrate the legacy of love they built together. Their union was blessed with two sons, Craig and Tony Christensen. Though Craig predeceased him, his memory lives on through stories Larry lovingly recounted, and through Tony, who, with his wife Joyce, continues the family tradition of love and laughter.
Larry's warmth and jovial spirit live on in his grandchildren, Crystal Parrish, married to Jake, and Jade Christensen, married to Bailey. He delighted in watching them grow and was especially proud of his great-grandchildren, Maddox and Nora Parrish, who were the apples of his eye. His family was his masterpiece, painted with the colors of love, joy, and endless stories.
A man who was loved by all who knew him, Larry had the remarkable ability to light up a room with his stories and jokes. His infectious laughter and kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met. As those who loved him gather to remember him, they will undoubtedly share tales of his humor and wisdom, ensuring that his spirit remains vibrant and ever-present.
Larry Rex Christensen's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, art will be admired, and the love he so freely gave will be reflected back by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local art foundation, to continue Larry's legacy of inspiring others to see the world through the eyes of an artist.
