It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Maine, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world peacefully at home on June 13, 2026, at the age of 69. Larry was born on May 10, 1957, in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, to Marvin and Charlotte Maine. Throughout his life, Larry embodied a tenacious spirit, a love for adventure, and a steadfast commitment to those he cherished.
Larry's journey began in Alderwood Manor, where he graduated from high school in 1975. A testament to his dedication and perseverance, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor that foreshadowed a life characterized by hard work and a sense of duty. He carried these virtues into his career, where he devoted 38 years as a Civil Engineer for Grant County. Larry’s meticulous nature and unwavering dedication contributed to the development and betterment of his community.
Beyond his professional life, Larry was a man of passions. He found solace in the serene waters, often seen boating, where the rhythmic waves mirrored the calmness he brought into the lives of those around him. Larry also had a love for the open road, riding his Harley with a sense of freedom that spoke volumes of his adventurous spirit. Though known for his grumpy demeanor, it was a humorous facade that endeared him to many, revealing a heart full of warmth and kindness.
Larry is survived by his loving mother, Charlotte Maine, who stood as a constant pillar of support in his life. His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Ron Maine and his wife Vickie, Bill Maine, and Dick Maine and his wife Diane. Larry's sisters, Sue Olson and her husband Scott, Cindy Yzaguirre and her husband Pete, and Beth Bissitt and her husband Bob, along with sister-in-law Patty Maine, will hold his spirit close in their hearts. Larry also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom will carry forward his legacy of strength and perseverance.
He joins in eternal rest his father Marvin "Bud" Maine, his sister Melinda Maine, brother Vincent Maine, and nephew Michael Olson. Their reunion in heaven is a comforting thought to those who loved him.
A service to honor and celebrate Larry's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeshore Bowl, a place where laughter and memories are shared, much like the gatherings Larry cherished. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and to share stories of a man who, though he may have appeared grumpy, was truly full of love, laughter, and life.
Larry Maine's legacy is one of resilience, adventure, and love. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered, by all whose lives he touched. As we say our goodbyes, we hold onto the memories that made him uniquely Larry, celebrating the life of a man who lived fully and loved deeply.
