It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Keith Cubine, affectionately known as Keith, who left this world on May 19, 2026, at the age of 68, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on August 24, 1958, in the small town of Sayre, Oklahoma, Keith was a beacon of light and laughter in the lives of many.
Keith was the cherished son of Barbara Cubine, who instilled in him the values of compassion and resilience. These values guided him throughout his life, particularly in his chosen profession as a drug and rehab counselor. Keith dedicated his career to supporting those in their most vulnerable times, helping them find a path to sobriety and equipping them with the skills to maintain it. His unwavering commitment to his clients and his empathetic nature were hallmarks of his professional life, earning him the respect and gratitude of countless individuals and families.
Though his professional achievements were numerous, it was Keith's personal charm and infectious sense of humor that left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Known for his ability to light up a room with his jokes and stories, Keith had an uncanny talent for making people smile and laugh, often at his own expense. His stories, rich with life's experiences, will be cherished and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Keith's life was touched by both joy and sorrow. He was predeceased by his beloved Great Grandmother Dora Lee McGuffin, Grandmother Barbara Rutherford, Aunt Treva Jenkins, sisters Terrie Anne Cubine and Donna Jean Brown, and brother Roger Wayne Craig. Despite these profound losses, Keith found strength in the love of his surviving family and friends.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, carried on by his close friend Vikki, who stood by him through thick and thin, and his many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and nieces, who adored their Uncle Keith. His family will forever hold his memory dear, celebrating his life with laughter and affection, just as he would have wanted.
In honoring Keith's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing his family and closest friends to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man who touched their lives in countless ways.
Keith's departure leaves an irreplaceable void, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him. As we say goodbye, we are reminded of the laughter he brought, the lives he changed, and the love he gave, which will forever remain in our hearts.
