Larry passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with lung disease at the James A Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL. Born on October 31, 1953, in Hapeville, GA, Larry's life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit.
Larry was the son of the late Jack E. and Betty Jean Fisher. He leaves behind his devoted life partner, Peggy Stidham, with whom he shared many joyful years since they met in Madison, GA, in 2016, and later made their home in Lakeland, FL, in 2019. Larry had 3 children: daughters - Colleen (Richardson) McKinney and Melissa Richardson both of Odon, IN, and son, Stephen Fisher of Chestertown, MD. He is also survived by his two brothers, Mike (Kathy) Fisher of McDonough, GA, and Danny Fisher (Pam) of Fort Mill, SC.
An alumnus of Hapeville High School, class of 1971, Larry embarked on a noble journey by joining the Navy shortly after graduation. He served his country with honor for over 14 years, an experience he held dear, especially his time aboard the ships he loved so much. After his military service, Larry pursued higher education at Roanoke College in Salem, VA, where he earned a Business Degree. This accomplishment paved the way for a successful career in banking and management.
Larry was a man of many interests and passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the kitchen. He was an adventurous cook, relishing the opportunity to plan and prepare meals for his loved ones, always eager to try new recipes and discover new restaurants.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Larry's life was a testament to the values he held dear. His family and friends will forever remember his warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering loyalty.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Larry's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart.
Larry's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, honoring his wishes and the love he shared with those closest to him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
