August 4, 1941 — June 17, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound respect, we announce the passing of Larry Jay Wolfe, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully and painlessly on June 17, 2026, at the age of 84, in the comforting surroundings of Azalea Gardens of Mableton. Born on August 4, 1941, in the picturesque town of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, Larry lived a life full of love, service, and unwavering faith. Larry was the cherished son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Wolfe, and he grew up in a home where kindness and generosity were cornerstones. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ben Wolfe, his sister Nancy Krammes, and his beloved son, Craig Wolfe. His spirit, however, lives on in the hearts of his surviving family members: his former spouse, Lucille Wolfe; his devoted children, Glenn Wolfe, and Rhonda Johnson along with her husband, Kenneth Johnson; his adored grandchildren, Stephen Johnson, Payton Johnson, Jett Johnson, and Rachel Wolfe; and his precious great-grandchild, Auriya Wolfe. He is also survived by his loving sister, Lola Garbarino. A neice and nephew. A proud alumnus of Pennsylvania's educational institutions, Larry graduated with a degree in Business Administration and soon after, dedicated four years of honorable service to his country in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. His dedication and commitment to duty were qualities that he carried into his professional life, working tirelessly for 32 years at United Parcel Service, where he was fondly remembered as the best delivery driver ever. After retiring, he continued to spread joy by delivering flowers in Charleston, SC, a testament to his love of bringing happiness to others. Larry was a man of deep faith, an active and devoted member of the New Covenant Church of God, where he generously served on the welcome committee. His life was a testament to his belief in the goodness of people and the power of community. His church family and all who knew him were touched by his positive attitude and his compassion for others. Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life: visiting flea markets, traveling to new places, savoring the delights of Shoo fly pie, dining out, and, most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his frequent participation in mission trips reflected his unwavering commitment to helping others and spreading the word of God. Those who had the privilege of knowing Larry will remember him for his gentle spirit, his unwavering faith, and his loving heart. He lived by the words he often shared, "Keep looking up!" and "God is in control," reminding us all to trust in a higher power and to approach life with a hopeful spirit. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on July 23, 2026, at 12:30 PM at the Georgia National Military Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, GA 30114. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses, med techs, staff of Azalea Gardens of Mableton, and the compassionate team at Golden Rule Hospice for the loving care provided to Larry in his final days. In honoring his memory, may we all strive to embody the kindness, faith, and love that Larry showed each and every day. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
