Larry Howard Hoch

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Howard Hoch, who peacefully departed this world on July 21, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on April 18, 1937, in the quaint town of Huntington, Indiana, Larry was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. Larry was the beloved son of Howard and Helen Hoch. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers and three sisters, and his son, Larry Matthew Hoch. Larry found his soulmate in Catherine Lurline Michel, lovingly known as Kaye, with whom he shared a devoted and inspiring marriage of nearly 69 years since their wedding on June 9, 1957. A graduate of Bippus High School in 1955, Larry embarked on a fulfilling career marked by dedication and hard work. He began his professional journey with Sunbeam Bread, delivering to local grocery stores, before moving on to Mikes Furniture in 1970. Larry later found his calling in the automotive industry, selling cars for Bob Thomas until his well-earned retirement in 2023. Larry's life was enriched by his passions and hobbies. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and he had a talent for auctioneering. Larry cherished traveling out West with his beloved Kaye, often sharing stories of their adventures. A devout Christian, Larry was dedicated to his faith, enjoying reading his Bible and teaching Sunday School. His commitment to his spiritual community was evident in his active membership at Pathway Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Larry was a man of profound faith and integrity, known for his kind, loving, and caring heart. He was a devoted family man who adored his wife and cherished his family. His legacy lives on through his wife, Catherine Hoch, his daughters Rhonda Hoch, Shelly Stouder, and Cyndy Patrick, his 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward his spirit of love and generosity. Larry Howard Hoch will be deeply missed, but his love, compassion, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
