Larry Dockery

September 10, 1974 — March 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Larry Dockery on March 7, 2026. Born on September 10, 1974, Larry was a beacon of light and warmth, who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Larry was the cherished son of Lisa Meyer and the late Larry Dockery Sr. He was also blessed with the guidance of his stepfather, the late Paul Meyer. A devoted husband, Larry shared a beautiful life with his wife Laura, raising two wonderful sons, Tiernan and Joshua, who were his pride and joy. A proud graduate of Moon Area High School, class of 1992, Larry pursued his passion for education by earning both bachelor's and master's degrees in Special Education. His commitment to nurturing and inspiring young minds was evident in his professional life and was a testament to his boundless compassion and dedication. Larry's love for music was a defining aspect of his life. An accomplished musician, he skillfully played both the trumpet and guitar, bringing joy to many through his melodies. His appreciation for music was only rivaled by his enthusiasm for sports, particularly baseball and football, which he enjoyed both watching and playing. Known for his infectious laugh and ever-present smile, Larry's warm spirit resonated with everyone he met. He possessed an unparalleled ability to make others feel seen and heard, a true testament to his compassionate heart. As a doting father, he was deeply involved in his sons' lives, always encouraging and supporting them in their endeavors. Larry is survived by his loving wife Laura, his sons Tiernan and Joshua, his devoted mother Lisa Meyer, his brother Leon Dockery and sister-in-law Rhonda Dockery, and his dear sisters Amy, Shannon, and Emily Meyer. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. In celebrating Larry's life, we remember the moments of joy and laughter he brought into our lives. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the beautiful memories and the lasting impact he leaves behind. A service to honor Larry's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can come together to share stories and celebrate the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity supporting music education, a cause close to Larry's heart. Larry Dockery's enduring legacy is one of love, compassion, and joy. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
