Larry Dean Jackson, Our father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on July 3, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born on March 4, 1932, in Bradford, Arkansas, Larry was the cherished son of Louie and Sallie Jackson. Larry was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, known for his wisdom and a beautiful outlook on life. His warm soul and generous spirit touched countless people, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege to know him. In 1952, Larry married his sweetheart, Donna Emery, in Chicago, Illinois. Together, they shared nearly 74 wonderful years of marriage, raising three children and creating a life filled with love, support, and numerous adventures. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Larry served his country with honor in the United States Army from January 1953 to January 1955. After completing basic training at Fort Smith, Arkansas, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. His time in the military was marked by dedication and a deep sense of duty. After his service, Larry embarked on a successful career with Western Electric, which later became AT&T. He began his journey as a drafting engineer in Chicago, Illinois, in 1957, eventually retiring as the Department Manager of Drafting Engineering from AT&T in Westminster, Colorado, in 1982. His career was distinguished by commitment and leadership, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Larry's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He found great joy in hunting for petrified wood along the Colorado Platte River and spent countless hours polishing rocks. Flying his private airplane was another beloved pastime, allowing him to savor the beauty of the world from above. Larry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughter, Veronica (Michael) Jones, and sons, Robert Jackson and Mark (Kathy) Jackson. His grandchildren, Tim (Michelle) Jones and Stacey (Mike) Giles, and great-grandchildren, Delaney Jones, Jordan Jones, Jamie Giles, and Jessica Giles, were the lights of his life. He is predeceased by his parents, Louie and Sallie Jackson, his brother, Jerry Jackson, and his sister, Diane Hernandez. Though their loss was deeply felt, Larry carried their memory in his heart, treasuring the times they shared. The Jackson family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to TRU Hospice Care, whose nurses and staff provided compassionate care and support during Larry's final days. Their kindness was a source of comfort and strength to the family. In accordance with Larry's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Larry's spirit of generosity. Larry's life was a testament to kindness, love, and resilience. His memory will forever be a guiding light to those who knew and loved him.
