Larry Braden Cole

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Larry Braden Cole, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family on September 12, 2026. Born on December 4, 1938, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Larry was the cherished son of Archie Moore Cole and Caroline Lenora "Lenore" Braden Cole. Larry's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love. After graduating from Badger High School in 1956, he pursued higher education at Kent State University, where he earned his business degree in 1961. Following his education, Larry served with honor in the United States Air Force as a Military Police officer stationed in Newfoundland for four years, a period that instilled in him a lifelong commitment to service and community. Professionally, Larry was a respected State Farm agent for over 40 years, where he diligently served his community's insurance needs. Before that, he served as a local Kinsman Sheriff, a role in which he maintained peace and order with unwavering integrity. Larry was an active member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, where he took on numerous roles, including that of a deacon, offering his time and talents generously. His community involvement extended to numerous local organizations, including the FOE, VFWs, and American Legions. His charitable spirit was evident through his support of the Arbor Day Foundation and various other charities. In his leisure time, Larry was an avid hunter, especially during deer season, and enjoyed many outdoor adventures with local hunters. His love for the land was also reflected in the large gardens he grew and the farming activities he embraced, not to mention his cherished horse, Trojan. Larry had a passion for discovering new gadgets, often bringing home the latest innovations. Larry's legacy is lovingly carried forward by his devoted wife of 43 years, Jeanie Marie Lower Cole, and his beloved daughter, Larraine Beth Cole. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Teresa (Russ) Finney, Carmen Randleman, Rita Reeher, Eva (Brad) Roshong, Darlene (Bruce) Schirmer, Amy (Alan) Kotanchek, and stepson James (Laura) Stump. Larry's joy in life extended to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Larry was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, half-siblings, stepdaughters, sons-in-law, stepson, and a grandson, all of whom shaped his life and whose memories he cherished deeply. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Capital Health, Harmony Cares, and Grace Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Larry's memory, continuing his spirit of giving and community support. Larry's presence in the lives of those he touched will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of all who knew and loved him.
