Larry Boyd Lister, born on November 19, 1948, in Greenville, SC, peacefully departed this world on May 1, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of his cherished family. Larry's journey was one marked by love, faith, and a deep commitment to his family and friends. The son of Boyd and Sybil Lister, Larry was predeceased by his parents, whom he looked forward to seeing again in Heaven. He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of 56 years, Sandra, whom he married in 1969. Together they built a family that stands as a testament to their enduring love. Larry's legacy continues through his children: sons Cale Lister (Tracy), Rory Lister, Lance Lister, Doron Lister (Diana), and daughter Lacy Cooper (Chad). "Papa Larry" had a heart full of joy from his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He adored them and they adored him just as much. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Lister, and sisters, Sylvia McCauley and Joan Tysinger. A graduate of Blue Ridge High School, Larry went on to serve in the National Guard and also became a licensed S.C. Residential Homebuilder. His skill as a woodworker was unparalleled, and he spent his professional life crafting beautiful furniture and custom cabinetry. His love for woodworking was not just a profession but a passion, evident in his attention to detail and quality workmanship. Known for his infectious smile and lighthearted humor, Larry could light up any room with a joke, bringing laughter and happiness to friends and family alike. He truly cherished his family and filled their home with love, faith and many fun times. Larry was a devoted member of Double Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and enjoyed fellowship with Golden Glow Seniors. His faith was the cornerstone of his life; he desired for others to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Larry enjoyed studying the Bible, discussing the Bible, and sharing encouragement from God's word, all a testament to his unwavering belief. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at Double Springs Baptist Church, located at 3800 Locust Hill Road, Taylors, SC 29687. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Double Springs Baptist Church, Golden Glow Seniors at https://www.doublesprings.org/ The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Hospice for their compassionate care and to all the friends and family who visited Larry during his final months. Your presence brought him immense joy and comfort, and your visits were a cherished part of his final days. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate the meaningful life he led and the countless lives he touched.
