Larry B. Brown

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Larry B. Brown, who departed this world on August 29, 2026, in Alexandria, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 27, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Larry lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and friends. Larry was the cherished son of Bernard and Amelia Marie Carlini Brown, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his beloved wife of 41 years, Edith Brown, his brother, Hurbert John Brown, and his sister, Cheryl Ann McDowell. Together, Larry and Edith built a life rich with love and memories, traveling to many places and countries, with Brazil holding a special place in their hearts. Larry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his sons, Larry C. Brown, Sr., and Shane Brown. His grandson, Larry C. Brown, Jr., and wife Lauren, along with his great-grandchildren, Genevieve Faye Brown and Noland Paul Brown, were the pride and joy of his life. He adored watching them grow and play, bringing endless joy to his days. Larry also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will forever treasure his memory. A devoted freight truck driver until his retirement, Larry was known for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. He was of the Baptist faith, which guided him throughout his life. Larry had a passion for the great outdoors, often found participating in fishing tournaments on Toledo Bend Lake or hunting in the serene wilderness. He cherished every moment spent sitting around a campfire, cooking, and grilling for his loved ones. His culinary skills were celebrated among family and friends, and his stories shared by the fire will be remembered fondly. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Larry's life at a service on September 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at French Cemetery in Effie, Louisiana. As we come together to honor him, we remember a man who lived with a generous heart, a loving spirit, and a zest for life that inspired all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Larry's memory to a charity of your choice. Larry's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
