It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Andrew Nordquest, a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed veteran, who left us on October 24, 2026. Larry was born on April 29, 1956, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Calvin Nordquest and Ida Mae Rogers. His journey on this earth was marked by a profound dedication to family, country, and a life well-lived.
Larry graduated from Geneva High School in 1974, and shortly thereafter, he embarked on a distinguished career with the United States Air Force. Serving his country with honor and integrity, Larry achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant before retiring in February 1994 after 19 years of dedicated service. His commitment to duty and his fellow servicemen and women was a testament to his unwavering character.
Following his military career, Larry continued to serve his community and country through his work as a correctional officer at a state prison. He later became a truck driver, a role that allowed him to explore the open road and reflect on life's journey. His work was not just a career, but a testament to his work ethic and his dedication to providing for his family.
Larry was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in casting a line from his beloved boat and spending countless cherished moments with his grandchildren. His laughter and warmth were a beacon of love, lighting up the lives of those around him. His grandchildren—Abigail, Sparrow, Raelynn, Ellis, and Anthony—were the pride of his life, and he cherished every moment with them and his great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Ida Mae Rogers; his sons, Calvin Lawrence Nordquest and Tyson Peyton; his stepfather, Harry Pollock; and his sister, Janet Tinney. He is survived by his loving children: daughter Aneko Nordquest of Hudson, son Kevin of Hudson, daughter Lorrie Lane (Gary) of Coeburn, Virginia, and daughter Lisa Nordquest of Uhrichsville. His legacy also lives on through his siblings, brother Tom Nordquest (Belinda) of Florida, sister Bonnie Russel of Ashtabula, and sister Tamara Pollock of Ashtabula. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Larry's life was a testament to the power of love and service. He will be remembered for his strength, his unwavering support, and his boundless love for his family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
