LaRanda Strickland

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of LaRanda Strickland, affectionately known to many as "BigMommma," on August 5, 2026. Born on January 26, 1986, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, LaRanda was a beacon of warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. LaRanda was the cherished daughter of Randal, late Jeff and Loria Morrow She was preceded in death by her Papa, Raymond Morrow; Grandma, Wilma Morrow; Great Grandma, Ada Stricklin; and her beloved pet, TJ. Her legacy of love and compassion continues through her son, Dalton Strickland, her Aunt Janice, and her devoted friends LaJuana, Steve and all Eangle Creek Community A proud graduate of Waynesboro High School, LaRanda went on to dedicate six years of her life to Pizza Hut before pursuing her true passion as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her caring nature shone brightest as she tended to the elderly, offering them comfort and companionship until health challenges necessitated her early retirement. LaRanda was an active member of the Green River Baptist Church and the Eagle Creek Firehall, where she found community and purpose. Her life was enriched by her love for quilting and her unwavering support for the WCHS Band. Saturdays were often spent cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers or enjoying the company of Jeremy and Bridget Yarbro. Known to all of Dalton's friends as "BigMommma," LaRanda greeted everyone with a smile that could light up a room. Her loving spirit and welcoming nature remained constant, regardless of the challenges she faced. A service to celebrate LaRanda's life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 PM at the Green River Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. LaRanda Strickland's legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
