August 4, 1990 — April 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kyia Hicks, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, who was tragically taken from us on April 13, 2026, at the tender age of 35. Born on August 4, 1990, in Dallas, Texas, Kyia was a radiant presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. Kyia was the cherished daughter of Lena Morgan and Jeff Hicks, and she grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her family. She leaves behind her precious two-year-old son, Gio, who was the light of her life and her greatest source of joy. Her loving sister, Lakeidra (affectionately known as Kei), and her devoted best friend, Tee, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Kyia also leaves behind her adorable goddaughter, Kya, and a host of nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their beloved aunt. Kyia was known for her infectious laugh, warm smile, and her ability to light up any room with her jokes. Her kind spirit and gentle nature were evident in her chosen career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where she compassionately cared for others with the utmost dedication. She was a graduate of high school and pursued a path that allowed her to touch countless lives with her nurturing heart. In her free time, Kyia loved to cook, read, and spend precious moments with her family. These simple joys were her treasures, and she found immense happiness in the company of her loved ones. Her culinary skills were often showcased at family gatherings, where her dishes were filled with love and warmth. Kyia's life, though tragically cut short in a car accident, was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Kyia's life and legacy, as per the family's wishes. Her mother and sister would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown love and support during this difficult time. They deeply appreciate the kind words and gestures from friends and family who have come together to celebrate Kyia's beautiful life. As we bid farewell to Kyia, let us remember her not in sadness, but in the joy and love she brought into our lives. Her laughter will echo in our hearts, her smile will brighten our days, and her spirit will forever guide us. Rest in peace, dear Kyia. You will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
