Kurt Otterbein, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, gently fell asleep in his sleep on August 8, 2026, after a courageous battle. Born on June 28, 1963, in San Bernardino, California, Kurt lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and passions. Kurt was the cherished son of Patricia Otterbein and the late Tom Jay Otterbein. He shared an extraordinary bond with his mother, who survives him, and was deeply inspired by the values instilled in him by his father. In September of 1992, Kurt married the love of his life, Veronica Rosales. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising four wonderful children: Austin, Kurt Jr., TJ, and Mika. Their home was always filled with warmth and love, extending beyond their immediate family to embrace five other children whom they treasured as their own. Kurt’s legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 34 years, Veronica, who stood by him through every high and low. Kurt found immense joy in being a grandfather to his six grandchildren: Josiah, Eliot, Michael, Isabel, Saige, and Legend. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished forever. A man with a passion for life, Kurt could often be found perfecting his golf swing. He spent countless hours on the course, both practicing and watching, always striving to improve his skill.
