Kurt Matthew Jenson
December 28, 1952 — December 3, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound respect, we honor the life of Kurt Matthew Jenson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Kurt passed peacefully at home in Belgrade, Montana, on December 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on December 28, 1952, in Forest City, Iowa, Kurt was the cherished son of Curtis and Leona Jenson, who preceded him in death, alongside his brother-in-law, Marvin Smith, and his beloved grandson, Mitchell Brady.
Kurt's journey through life was marked by a boundless curiosity and an insatiable quest for knowledge. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology in 1985, he channeled his keen engineer's mind into a career that celebrated his talents in mechanical tinkering and problem-solving. Known for his innovative spirit, Kurt was often found surrounded by the hum of his latest project, crafting solutions with a deft hand and a thoughtful approach.
A true outdoorsman, Kurt's passions extended beyond the workshop. He was a devoted enthusiast of music, hunting, and shooting, and he cherished the tranquil moments spent fishing. His adventurous spirit led him to hunt not only for game but also for hidden hot springs and the thrill of uncovering treasures in unexpected places. Kurt's knack for discovering a good bargain was legendary, and his collections reflected a lifetime of stories waiting to be shared.
Kurt had the remarkable ability to weave tales that captured the imagination, and his storytelling was a gift to all who knew him. His friends and family will forever cherish the laughter and warmth that accompanied each of his anecdotes, told with a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of kindness.
Kurt leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his two daughters, Rebecca (Ryan) Stevens and Melanie Moholt. His spirit and stories live on in his seven adored grandchildren: Dylan Brady, Caleb Brady, Brody Stevens, Cohen Stevens, Kelsey Moholt, Robert Moholt, and Alexander Moholt. Kurt is also survived by his siblings, who shared in his life's adventures: Rosalyn Smith, Mark (Liz) Jenson, Dr. Bart (Teresa) Jenson, and Kelly Jenson.
A celebration of Kurt's life will be held on June 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Belgrade Senior Center, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor the man who touched so many lives with his warmth and wisdom.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Belgrade Senior Center, an organization close to Kurt's heart, reflecting his dedication to community and connection.
Kurt Matthew Jenson's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an extraordinary zest for life. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit endures in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May we all continue to find joy in the stories we share and the memories we hold dear.
