Kurt Henry Tovey
August 5, 1954 — October 20, 2026
We gather together in loving remembrance of Kurt Henry Tovey, who graced this world with his presence from August 5, 1954, until his peaceful passing on October 20, 2026. Born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Kurt lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and passions.
Kurt was the beloved son of Gerald H. Tovey and E. Elizabeth "Betty" Tovey, who both preceded him in death. Their loving influence shaped the compassionate and spirited man Kurt became. He is survived by a devoted and proud family, including his son, Dylan Tovey, and daughter-in-law, Kylee, who blessed him with his cherished grandson, Isaac Tovey. Although Kurt and his ex-wife, Veronica Fonnesbeck, took separate paths, they shared the immense joy of raising their son together. Kurt's siblings, Suzanne Meyer, Todd Tovey (Laurie), Chad Tovey, and Drew Tovey, along with numerous extended family members, hold his memory close to their hearts.
A proud alumnus of Highland High School, Kurt graduated with the class of 1972 and furthered his education at the University of Utah. Known for his remarkable work ethic, Kurt was a valued employee at Kwal-Howells paint and wallcovering, where he was admired by both customers and colleagues alike.
Kurt's life was a vibrant tapestry of interests and talents. An exceptional athlete, he thrived in baseball, basketball, football, and track and field, later channeling his competitive spirit into a love for golf. His passion for the arts saw him gracing the stage in numerous plays and television commercials, where his charisma and humor shone brightly.
Those who knew Kurt will remember his big personality, his love for animals, and his enormous heart. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and an ability to find laughter in life’s moments, especially at himself. These qualities endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to honor Kurt's life will be held on November 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, located at 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, Utah.
As we bid farewell to Kurt, we hold dear the special message from his family: "Kurt, We will miss and love you always. A.O.L.A."
