In Loving Memory of Kristina Mccallum
On December 16, 2025, the world lost a gentle soul, Kristina Mccallum, who left us at the age of 49 after a private battle with depression. Born on October 22, 1976, in the sunny enclave of Key West, Florida, Kristina was a beacon of light and compassion who touched the lives of many throughout her journey.
Kristina was the beloved daughter of Patricia S. Dahne and Fredrick Robert Dahne. She is survived by her mother Patricia, her brother Bill, sister Alex, and her precious children, Savannah and Curtis, who were the center of her universe. Kristina’s love for her family was boundless, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them in every way possible.
A dedicated scholar, Kristina graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida, which she obtained in 2006. Her professional career was marked by her unwavering commitment to patient care as she worked tirelessly at Tampa General Hospital. Rising to the esteemed position of Rehabilitation Director in 2025, Kristina’s colleagues and patients admired her for the compassion and dedication she brought to her work every single day.
Kristina’s caring nature extended beyond the walls of the hospital, as she was actively involved with Doctors Without Borders. Her selfless spirit took her on medical mission trips to Haiti, Venezuela, and Barbados, where she provided much-needed care and kindness to those in need. Kristina’s love for helping others was the cornerstone of her life’s work, and her legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering kindness.
In addition to her professional achievements, Kristina was an avid triathlete who found joy in competition and camaraderie. Whether she was competing locally in Clearwater and St. Petersburg or taking on the formidable challenge of a full Ironman triathlon just a year ago, Kristina’s determination and spirit were truly inspiring.
Those who knew Kristina will remember her as a compassionate soul who always prioritized the needs of others, often at the expense of her own. Her patients at Tampa General Hospital were the beneficiaries of her boundless empathy, and the testimonials from those she touched are a testament to the profound impact she had on so many lives.
A service to celebrate Kristina’s life will be held on December 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Dobies Funeral Home, 9663 SR 54, New Port Richey, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Doctors Without Borders in Kristina’s memory, ensuring that her legacy of giving continues to make a difference.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kristina’s Tampa General family for their continued support during this difficult time. As we say goodbye to Kristina, we hold on to the words that resonate deeply in our hearts: she will “forever be in our hearts.”
