With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kristina Ashley Mulder, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world on March 9, 2026, at the age of 39. Kristina was born on August 15, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, where she brightened the lives of everyone she encountered with her infectious smile and an unwavering love for her family and friends. Kristina was the beloved daughter of Rudy Mulder and Helen Swan, who instilled in her a deep sense of kindness and compassion. She was a devoted sister to Jonathan Mulder and his wife Sarah, Alec Mulder, Jo Swan, and Chuck Swan. Together, they shared countless moments of joy, laughter, and love that will forever be treasured in their hearts. She spent her formative years growing up in the North Shore area, where she graduated from Northshore Country Day High School with a passion for learning and a zest for life. Kristina furthered her education at Belmont University, where she nurtured her love for the arts and humanities. Professionally, Kristina dedicated herself to the retail industry, where her genuine care and empathy for others shone brightly. She was known for her ability to connect with people, making them feel valued and appreciated. Her colleagues and customers alike admired her dedication and sincerity. Outside of work, Kristina had a deep affection for animals, a passion that guided her in supporting animal rescue efforts throughout her life. Her home was never without the companionship of a beloved pet, each one a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her love for all creatures great and small inspired those around her to act with kindness and compassion. Kristina's legacy is one of love, friendship, and unwavering positivity. Her contagious smile brought warmth and light to all who knew her, and her deep love for her family and friends was evident in every interaction. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A service to celebrate Kristina's life will be held on April 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, located at 126 E Chestnut Street, Chicago, IL. Family, friends, and all whose lives Kristina touched are invited to gather in her memory and honor the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kristina's memory to Animal Rescue, an organization close to her heart. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Vitas Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Kristina's final days. Kristina Ashley Mulder will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone she touched.
