In Loving Memory of Korinia Kay Stanton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Korinia Kay Stanton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Korinia was born on October 15, 1973, in McKinney, Texas, and left us far too soon on May 11, 2026, due to a tragic car accident. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Korinia was a cherished daughter to Connie & Larry Montgomery and Patricia & Jackie Sterling. She is predeceased by her beloved Pawpaw & Granny Montgomery, Pawpaw Biggs & Grandma Biggs, J.H. & Evelyn Gorden, and Vicki & Kim, who she now joins in eternal peace.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Dan Stanton, with whom she shared a beautiful union, marrying on March 25, 2022, at the Kings Trail Cowboy Church. Their love was a testament to the joy and warmth that Korinia brought into the lives of everyone around her.
Korinia's legacy lives on through her children: Trenton Montgomery and his wife Scarlett, Jorden Montgomery, Mckenze Stoermer, Cassady Dewit and her husband Caleb, Brandon Kennedy, and Brianna Kennedy. Her love and guidance will continue to inspire them. Her heart was further expanded by her six treasured grandchildren: Hunter Montgomery, Haidyn Montgomery, Carson Montgomery, Katherine Nicolas, Waylyn & Danielle, and Noah & Michael, who brought immense joy and pride into her life.
She is survived by her siblings, Christy McBride and her husband Randy, Cody Sterling and his wife Michelle, Misty Dawn, Lee Franklin, Christian Pope and his wife Robin, Richard Sterling, and Michael Williams. In addition, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity will remember her fondly.
Korinia dedicated her professional life as a caregiver at Payton Rehab, where she went above and beyond in caring for her patients. Her work was not just a job but a calling, and she treated every person with compassion and dignity. Her colleagues remember her as someone who always put others first, reflecting her deep empathy and selflessness.
Outside of work, Korinia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored spending time with her family, friends, and co-workers, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Her passion for fashion was well-known, so much so that her husband Dan often extended her closet to accommodate her collection of clothes. Her impeccable style was matched only by her impeccable spirit.
Korinia's unmistakable laugh and perfect smile were her trademarks, lighting up every room she entered. Her presence was a gift, and her absence leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has joined them in remembering and celebrating Korinia's life. Your love and support mean the world during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, dear Korinia. You will be forever cherished and never forgotten.
