In Loving Memory
Koa Huffaker
June 9, 2010 — February 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Koa Huffaker, who departed this world peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family, on February 14, 2026. Born on June 9, 2010, in the picturesque state of Utah, Koa brought immeasurable joy and love into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A cherished member of the Huffaker family, Koa was the beloved companion of Aaron and Tasha Huffaker. He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Gwennie and Odie, with whom he shared many treasured moments. Koa leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and unforgettable memories.
Koa was a remarkable soul, often affectionately referred to as “Grumpy Koa,” “Honey Badger,” or “Grandpa Koa.” His old soul resonated with all who met him, and his gentle spirit was a source of comfort and joy. Koa was quick with a tail wag and had an innate ability to make every visitor feel welcome, especially if they came bearing his favorite treat—food. His love for food was legendary, and he was especially fond of sharing a bite with anyone willing to indulge his culinary curiosity.
Among his many passions, Koa found pure delight in his squeaky cow, which was a constant companion in his playful adventures, and he cherished long, cozy snuggles on the couch with his family. His warm presence and unwavering companionship enriched the lives of those around him in countless ways.
Koa was a proud member of the AKC, and his regal demeanor and joyful spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. In honoring Koa's memory, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local animal shelter or rescue, ensuring that his love for life and community continues to flourish.
The Huffaker family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who loved Koa and made his life a beautiful journey. Special thanks are extended to Banfield Pet Hospital and Dr. Katharine Smith for their years of exceptional care, and to Homeward Bound Veterinary Care and Dr. Katherine Rist for their compassionate support in Koa's final moments.
Koa's departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, yet we find solace in the love and happiness he shared with us. His spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us of the profound bond we shared. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the extraordinary life of Koa Huffaker, a true friend and cherished family member, whose memory will remain etched in our hearts forever.
