Kirk L. Wolven

Kirk L. Wolven, a man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on April 29, 1959, in Fremont, Michigan, Kirk lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an enduring spirit that left a lasting impact on his family and friends. Kirk was the beloved son of the late Gerald and Ardis Wolven. Even after their passing, the values they instilled in him continued to guide his life. He was predeceased by his former wife of 25 years, Nancy Wolven, and is now reunited with her and his cherished parents and grandparents. Kirk is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Carol Wolven, who stood by his side through all of life's ups and downs. Kirk's life was graced with the love of his children and their families. He leaves behind Dan (Tara) Sherlock, Lindsay (Ryan) Naessens, Craig (Danielle) Wolven, and Lindsay (Nick) Garchow, who each carry forward the lessons and love he imparted. Kirk's legacy is further enriched by his seven grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. A proud graduate of Alma High School, Kirk furthered his education at Delta College. His professional journey led him to a fulfilling career with Pitney Bowes, later Oce, where he became known for his expertise in fixing copy machines and printers. In 2009, Pitney Bowes merged with Canon, and Kirk eventually retired from this career path. However, his passion for helping others led him to a new role with CareLink, where he delivered medical equipment and offered his trademark empathy and understanding to those in need. Kirk's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. He found solace in fishing, joy in cooking, and amusement in collecting "stuff." His love for attending ball games and hockey matches was a testament to the energy and enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life. Those who knew Kirk remember him for his warm demeanor and gift of gab. He had an extraordinary ability to empathize with those around him, making him not just a colleague or friend, but a confidant and supporter. His presence was a comforting constant to his family, friends, and everyone he met. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor for their exceptional care during Kirk’s illness. Cremation has taken place. A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Kirk's life, where his family will gather to honor the love, laughter, and kindness he shared with them. Kirk L. Wolven will be deeply missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
