It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kirk Alan Collamore on June 16, 2026, at the age of 70, in the comfort of his home after a valiant battle with chronic illnesses. Born on May 27, 1956, in Grand Island, Nebraska, Kirk was the cherished son of Ralph and Thelma Collamore, who predeceased him. Kirk’s journey through life was marked by deep love, unwavering kindness, and an infectious joy that touched everyone he met. He grew up in Grand Island, where he graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1974. With a passion for design and creativity, he pursued an architectural degree from the University of Nebraska, laying the foundation for a life filled with ingenuity and craftsmanship. In 1982, on a crisp December day in Grand Island, Kirk married the love of his life, Suzanne Vasey. Together, they crafted a beautiful life over 44 years, filled with love, laughter, and two wonderful children, Bryce and Megan. Kirk was a devoted husband and a loving father, qualities that shone brightly in every aspect of his life. Kirk was a dedicated employee at FedEx, where he worked for many years before retiring in 2021. His colleagues knew him for his work ethic and camaraderie, and he left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. A man of many talents and passions, Kirk found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His garage was a sanctuary, where he spent countless hours as a talented mechanic, lovingly restoring his cherished Packards and working on his cars. His green thumb was evident in his bountiful garden, where he nurtured vegetables and fruits with care and patience. Kirk’s love for the outdoors was only rivaled by his love for the beach, where he often found peace and relaxation. To those who knew him, Kirk was a beacon of light—a man whose contagious laugh and warm smile could brighten the darkest of days. He had a remarkable gift for making others laugh with his quick wit and playful humor. His generosity and kindness were boundless, leaving a legacy of compassion and love that will endure in the hearts of many. Kirk leaves behind his beloved wife Suzanne; his children Bryce (Breanna) and Megan (Cody); and his adored grandchildren, Blakeley, Braelynn, Ellisyn, and Bennett. He is also survived by a host of beloved family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Kirk’s life. As we say goodbye, we remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the beautiful life he lived and the joy he brought to our lives. Kirk Alan Collamore will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. May his soul find peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
