March 9, 1965 — June 14, 2026

With profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for the vibrant life he lived, we announce the passing of Kingsley Allan, who left us on June 14, 2026. Born on March 9, 1965, in England, Kingsley was a man whose heart was as expansive as the maps he loved, and whose life was as colorful as the places he traveled. Kingsley's sudden departure was as unique as the life he lived—he passed away with a soccer ball to the face while defending his one true goal of being a good father. This moment, though unexpected, encapsulated his unwavering dedication and love for his family and his passion for soccer, a sport that brought him immense joy and countless memories. A devoted husband, Kingsley shared "lots and lots of years" of marriage with his drop-dead gorgeous wife, whose love he cherished deeply. Together, they raised a family rooted in love and laughter, including his favorite daughter, Aurelia, and four other cherished children. He was a proud grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye and the legacy he leaves behind. Kingsley's academic journey led him to earn a master's degree in maps, a field that fascinated him and framed much of his professional life. He dedicated many years to the U of I Water Survey, where he engaged in "map stuff" before embracing a midlife adventure that took him to Japan. There, he continued his cartographic pursuits with a fervor that transcended any monetary reward, immersing himself in a culture that enriched his soul and broadened his horizons. His life was a testament to his faith as a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, an affiliation that defined not just his Sundays, but his entire outlook on life. Kingsley's love for the church was matched only by his passion for travel, a pursuit that took him to the farthest corners of the globe and filled his life with stories and experiences that he gladly shared with anyone who would listen. He often spoke of his dream to take to the skies in a hot air balloon, a testament to his adventurous spirit and ever-curious mind. Despite his many interests, soccer held a special place in Kingsley's heart. His skill in defending soccer goals was legendary among friends and family, a talent that mirrored his approach to life—protective, strategic, and always with an eye toward the greater good. Kingsley's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and adventure, woven together by his relentless pursuit of happiness and his unwavering commitment to his family and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. As we bid farewell to Kingsley, we hold dear the memories of a life lived fully and passionately, confident that he now watches over us from above, perhaps charting new maps of the heavens. Rest in peace, Kingsley Allan. You were loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed.
