It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kimberly Roundhouse Kime on September 14, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on January 11, 1962, in the beautiful city of Munich, Germany, Kimberly was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of John and Ruth Roundhouse, who preceded her in death along with her brother, Kelly Roundhouse.
Kimberly's journey was marked by a profound dedication to education and nurturing the minds of young children. A proud graduate of Hope College, she earned her degree in Psychology and later pursued a master’s degree in education. For 23 years, Kimberly touched the lives of countless students as a dedicated teacher, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of many.
In her personal life, Kimberly and Larry Kime were blessed with two remarkable daughters, Paige Winslow and Chandler Kime, who were the light of her life. Kimberly's love for her family was boundless, and she was cherished deeply by her brother, Kirk Roundhouse.
Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with joy and laughter. Kimberly had a zest for life that was evident in her many hobbies and interests. She found joy in traveling, movies, reading, swimming, and roller blading. Her love for musical theater and playing card games brought people together, and her passion for children was unrivaled. She was unapologetically silly, smart, warm, nurturing, courageous, fiercely loving, and proud—a true embodiment of love in action.
A service to celebrate Kimberly’s life will be held on October 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, located at 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, Kansas 66224. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Kimberly are invited to join in honoring her remarkable legacy.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who showed Kimberly unconditional love and support throughout her life. Her journey was enriched by the abundance of care she received from family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and the many lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kimberly’s memory to an organization dedicated to children's enrichment—a cause she held close to her heart.
Kimberly's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and in the legacy she leaves behind.
