In Loving Memory of Kimball Vernal Johansen
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we mourn the passing of Kimball Vernal Johansen, who departed this world on October 29th, 2026. Born on April 15th, 1952, in the delta Utah, Kimball graced this earth with a spirit as vast and welcoming as the great outdoors he so cherished.
Kimball was a man of many talents, a true "jack of all trades," and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971. His service was a testament to his dedication and love for the land he called home. Upon returning to civilian life, Kimball's hands found purpose in nurturing his beautiful garden, a sanctuary where he shared his passion for gardening with all who crossed his path.
In 1991, Kimball found his greatest treasure when he married Marysia Johansen on June 13th. Together, they cultivated a life enriched by love, laughter, and shared dreams. Kimball's fondness for hunting and fishing was matched only by the joy he found in performing his whimsical "dee-dee-dee-doo-doo-dadooo" dances, which never failed to bring smiles to those around him.
A storyteller at heart, Kimball's eyes would light up as he recounted tales of hunting adventures and dreams of striking it rich. His infectious smile and hearty laughter were as much a part of him as the love he bore for his family.
Kimball's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Marysia, Sandra Taylor (sister) carol johansen (sister in law) and his children: Jeffery Ryan Johansen and Tiffany Grover (daughter in law) Braiden and Kailey Taylor. He was a proud grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren: Sianna Lynette Johansen, Briana Lynette Johansen, Suniyah Simpson (Johansen), Lilyan, and Sophia Taylor. His love extended to his five great-grandchildren, Brazen Binder, KaizLeigh Kupfer, Huxton Ricketts, Braylee Binder, and Bexley Burnett.
Kimball was predeceased by his parents, Donald Carlisle and Wanda Lucile Johansen, and his siblings, Robert and Barry Johansen, Judy Elmer, and Debra. He is survived by his wife, Marysia, his former spouse Jodie Monte, and many cherished family members, including Brandon McIntire, Melissa Johansen, Jalene Harrison (Darin), Joshua Chavez, and Shaylene Chavez.
Kimball's family takes solace in the thought of him at peace, surrounded by the beauty of the great hunting grounds in the sky, where he is undoubtedly sharing his stories and laughter. Though his journey here has ended, the love and memories he leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
In honor of Kimball's memory, the family has chosen to hold a private ceremony.
Kimball Vernal Johansen will forever be cherished, his memory a guiding light for his family and friends. May he rest in peace, eternally embraced by the love he so freely gave.
